Our data and backup strategies are designed to obtain (in a timely fashion) your data from your hard drive if in the event of a system crash. The applications which accompany the CD are auto-start and will load when the operating system has successfully booted. Once this is finished, you will then be able to hook up your new hard drive for backup, and copy the data from one disk to the other. When finished, you can then re-deploy the backed up files from one hard drive to the next hard disk AFTER WINDOWS OR LINUX HAS BEEN INSTALLED. If you would like to purchase a new hard drive (separate from the one being purchased for the data backup) you can do so to re-install your primary operating system.
Please note that depending upon the level of damage your hard drive has sustained, you may need to launch DD rescue options instead of the standard data copy, or data move. There will be options set to specify how reading and rebuilding the hard disk be performed. If this still fails, there may possibly be additional issues with your hardware that may need to be addressed.
