Remote Repair Disclaimer

By utilizing this service you are granting a representative from, "NETWORK" to connect to your computer through Microsoft Windows RDP (professional versions, and ultimate versions) or, to Utilize a form of SSH (secure shell) for OS X, Linux and other Unix operating systems -- or a virtual VNC (Virtual Network Connection). When the remote repair is finished, your computer will either A) be rebooted, B) have control placed back to you, or C) have a phone call placed to alert you of said repairs and their completion. For additional details, please see each section for information in regards to how the repairs will be governed.

Microsoft Windows RDP

Versions of windows which allow for the connection (as determined by this web form) allow for the remote control, and or remote operations of your local machine. This web application DOES NOT assert your network availability behind your firewall. You must have port forwarding enabled and turned on for your network equipment to properly forward the requests. You may use one of the following port ranges: 3389 - 3400. Failure to have your port forwarding enabled, or engaged on an operating system which allows RDP connectivity will result in the failure of this remote support form to operate adequately.

Linux / Unix / OS X

Linux and Unix users (also OS X) have the availability to be controlled both graphically, and through the shell on the CLI (Command Line Interface). Many of the repairs will be handled through the usage of SSH ports 22, 222, and 2222. You must have openssh server installed, and running for the repairs to be successful. In addition to which, you must also have port forwarding enabled to forward ports from your firewall, or your POC (point of contact: cable modem, Fios Modem, DSL Modem). A copy of your session will then be placed upon your desktop, with any notes created by your technician with the use of VI, VIM or EMACS.
